PICS launches new climate events funding streams
The Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS) has introduced two new funding streams aimed at supporting climate-focused events in British Columbia. These initiatives are designed to foster climate change research, education, and tangible action within the community.
University Program: This stream offers up to $2,500 for events hosted by PICS-network universities, including UBC, SFU, UNBC, and UVic. The goal is to promote climate change research and education within academic settings.
Community Program: This stream provides between $2,500 to $5,000 for non-profit and Indigenous organizations. The funding is intended to drive tangible climate action and support community-led initiatives.
Application Periods: The first application period is open from September 3 to September 27, 2024, for events scheduled between October 2024 and mid-March 2025. A second intake will occur in February 2025.
These funding streams represent a significant opportunity for both academic and community organizations to contribute to climate solutions and engage in meaningful climate action.
