North Vancouver Launches B.C.’s First E-Cargo Bike Share Program
BCAA’s Evolve E-Bike Share, in collaboration with the District of North Vancouver (DNV) and the City of North Vancouver (CNV), has launched the province’s first E-Cargo Bike Pilot Program. This innovative program offers North Vancouver residents a sustainable and practical alternative to car travel for short trips and shopping.
Supported by BC Hydro and LandlordBC, the pilot program provides eight e-cargo bikes, available in two styles, for free use. These bikes can be picked up and returned at six locations across the North Shore, including public libraries and multi-unit residential buildings. The pilot will run until October 2024, with a restart in March 2025 through October 20253.
The initiative aims to reduce carbon emissions and promote active transportation. Residents can book the e-cargo bikes via the Evo app, with free helmets provided at all locations4.
“We’re excited to pilot B.C.’s first e-cargo bike share program,” said Leanne Buhler, Head of Evolve E-Bike and E-Scooter Share at BCAA. “This pilot reinforces our commitment to offering more inclusive and sustainable transport choices.”
