The Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS), the University of British Columbia (UBC), and BC Housing have released Version 1.0 of their Integrated Building Adaptation and Mitigation Assessment (IBAMA). The framework assesses potential climate change solutions for multi-unit residential buildings (MURBs).

The IBAMA framework and tool is intended for use by building industry professionals including architects, engineers, developers and owners of MURBs. These tools take a low carbon resilience (LCR) approach by addressing both environmental performance and climate adaptation objectives that can minimize risk and costs that would result from addressing mitigation and adaptation separately. With urban populations projected to increase, low carbon resilient multi-unit residential buildings will provide safe and secure housing for the future.
