Climate Action Plan

The Climate Leadership Plan builds on the Province's Climate Action Plan from 2008 which outlined strategies and initiatives to take B.C. approximately 73 per cent towards meeting the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 33 per cent by 2020.

The new plan, Climate Leadership Plan highlights the first set of actions towards meeting the new emissions reduction target of 80 per cent below 2007 levels by 2050, while building a clean economy.

These actions are expected to reduce annual greenhouse gas emissions by up to 25 million tonnes below current forecasts by 2050 and create up to 66,000 jobs over the next ten years.
