The District of Lake Country's micro-hydro project

Rural BC Green Energy

Lake Country's micro-hydro power plant is a successful green energy project. It produces and supplies power to the BC Hydro grid using infrastructure created on its existing and irrigation supply system.

The power plant produces enough energy to supply about 400 homes annually with power, (about 4000 megawatts of power). The revenue is about $350,000 to 400,000 per year. Surplus revenue goes into a capital account for future green projects.
