City builders (across Canada) are now frequently asked to consider energy efficiency, renewable energy and greenhouse gas reductions in their day to day work. This program will provide the information needed to respond to these new demands and connect with a cross-Canada cohort – with the flexibility and convenience of online learning.
 
The on-line program in Certificate in Community Energy Management will provide practical, actionable information, relationships and real life examples that will help participants to:
  • Communicate community-scale climate and energy topics to diverse stakeholders & develop plans that lead to implementation
  • Evaluate, finance, and implement technologies such as district energy, electric vehicle charging & local renewable power generation
  • Deliver impactful energy efficiency programs to residents and businesses
  • Achieve local economic development potential possible from reducing energy and emissions within your community & government operations
  • Apply local government policy, regulatory, and fiscal powers to saving energy and emissions in the community
This program will be useful to:
  • Municipal and regional elected officials and staff addressing infrastructure, finance, planning, utilities and facilities management
  • Developers, utilities, and private sector professionals who provide services to municipal and regional governments
