Congratulations to the City of Rossland on reaching both Corporate and Community Milestone 3 in the FCM-ICLEI Partners for Climate Protection program (PCP)

Rossland's submissions to FCM detailed their past climate action work including their community GHG emission reduction target, Strategic Community Energy and Emissions Plan, Corporate GHG Reduction Plan, and a series of CARIP reports. The City of Rossland has been a PCP member since 2009. By achieving Corporate and Community Milestone 3, Rossland is moving steadily through the PCP framework.

This picturesque mountain town, which is located in the Kootenays, has a population of 5,500. The city is known for getting things done with respect to sustainability. It “invented” the Rossland Energy Diet, a residential energy efficient retrofit program in 2011 that resulted in 2,220 GJ and 1.04 million kWh of energy savings with 22% of resident participation.
