Federation of Canadian Municipalities selected 22 partner organizations from across Canada to receive $3.6 million in grant funding to design and deliver asset management training to municipalities. Through this initiative, Canadian cities and communities of all sizes will be able to access 60 training activities between September 2017 and June 2018.

Organizations from across Canada will provide a range of training activities that provide an introduction to asset management for municipal staff and elected officials. The learning events, such as workshops and conferences will be held in municipalities in each region across the country, with a focus on reaching smaller communities close to home.

Training activities are designed to enable communities to develop or further their asset management programs. The goal is to help municipalities develop the skills to take asset management from theory to practice, so they can optimize delivery of the services that residents need and want at costs they can afford.
